There's a DVD I've mentioned before that is one of my favorite things to show people to explain what the Scientology religion is all about. It is called "This is Scientology" and it is a recording of a speech Mr. David Miscavige gave a couple of years ago at the annual celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre. In this speech Mr. Miscavige describes a number of programsScientologists are involved in, and how much impact they are having on society.

There are so many people from all walks of life who are motivated by a selfless purpose to help their fellow man. The point I feel Mr. Miscavige makes in this speech is that the reason the programs Scientologists are involved with are so effective is because they use the technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard.

As Mr. Miscavige puts it in this speech: "The answer to this planet’s problems will not be found in the "material." Of this there can be no question. For if those solutions can't prevent war nation to nation, how then can it be expected to answer questions like "love," "happiness" or "peace of mind?" So, we can’t expect the answer to be found in chemicals. Not unless one buys into a synthesized utopia, or a "Brave New World," with a perfect pleasure drug.

I really agree with this. The answers will not be found in the "material."

And the solutions L. Ron Hubbard developed are so effective.

For example, recently I read a book by L. Ron Hubbard called "Self Analysis." With the use of this book you can transform your own life, make it a much happier and productive one, and improve your relationship with others. And What Mr. Hubbard says is it doesn't have to take more than 1/2 hour a day - and you don't even need anyone else to help you with it -- just you and the book.

Calling All Scientology Volunteer Ministers
05.30.06 (6:52 pm)   [edit]
According to one of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers who have now arrived in Java to help in the aftermath of the earthquake, "The task of helping survivors of Saturday's earthquake on the Indonesian island of Java is "a race against the clock."

Estimates of the fatalities, injuries and homeless from the disaster vary but having lost their homes and loved ones, those displaced are now facing floods and the possibility of a volcanic eruption.

Scientology Volunteer Minister relief teams are forming up in countries around the world, to join the team from Medan, Indonesia and the team from the Church of Scientology of Perth, Australia who are already on the ground.

The Scientology teams will train anyone who wants to help. Here is the contact information:

Church of Scientology of Tampa plans site for expansion in St. Petersburg
05.23.06 (10:36 am)   [edit]
The Orlando Sentinal has a piece today on the Church of Scientology of Tampa and the expansion it plans for its service to the entire Tampa Bay community.

In the article it refers to a new life improvement center that it is setting up in St. Petersburg.

The church has a contract to buy a historic 7,000-square-foot building downtown. The sale is not final, but church officials hope it will be by June.

By the end of the summer, the church plans to open a life-improvement center, offering introductory Scientology courses, books by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and audio-visual displays.

Clearwater is home to the church's worldwide spiritual headquarters, where people come for the highest levels of training. But Scientologists generally don't recruit members there. That is one of the aims of the Church of Scientology in Tampa, where members across the Tampa Bay area perform church services. The St. Petersburg life-improvement center will be an outreach of the Tampa church. The move into St. Petersburg is part of a major expansion plan by the Church of Scientology of Tampa, which two months ago was recognized at an international church event as the fastest-growing Scientology church in the world. After buying a property in Plant City last month, the church announced plans to open life-improvement centers in Cocoa Beach, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Jacksonville and Sarasota this year. St. Petersburg, one of the largest cities in Florida with an active urban core, was a natural next step, said Ben Shaw, a spokesman for the Church of Scientology in Clearwater. "St. Petersburg is one of the most vibrant and growing cities in Florida, and we enjoy contributing to that," Shaw said.

I attended the International event where Mr. David Miscavige first announced that the Tampa church had accomplished the goal of expanding to the size of the church L. Ron Hubbard personally directed in the 1960's. This was a terrific accomplishment a few years ago, and the Church has continued to expand since them.

The Church of Scientology of Spain has a beautiful headquarters in Madrid.

When they held their grand opening, Tom Cruise spoke and shared how much he had gained from Scientology and how delighted he was to have this beautiful church open in the city he loved.

Another highlight was the speech by Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, Mr. David Miscavige.

This grand opening was a dream come true. Mr. Miscavige had announced the plans for this church International Association of Scientologists was

Scientologists and the Arts
05.17.06 (5:04 pm)   [edit]
Creative Expressions has some interesting posts about Scientologists who are also artists.

From what I have learned in Scientology it makes sense to me that there are so many artists who are Scientologists. So much of Scientology deals in communication, and if one thing singles out the successful from the ordinary in the arts, I believe it is the ability to communicate.

Heres' a posting she did about Juliette Lewis. Juliette is such a talented actress and singer, and she is now about to take on the challenge of live theater - a totally different genre from what she has done in the past.

Juliette Lewis

Juliette LewisJuliette Lewis got this nice article in Entertainmentwise in the UK:

Singer/actress Juliette Lewis is planning on appearing in the London’s West End.

Lewis will be making her stage debut this summer in Sam Shepard’s play ‘Fool For Love’.

According to IMDb.com, Lewis will be playing the role of a doomed lover…a far cry from her band Juliette & The Licks who she has been touring with over the last 12 months.

She said: "So I’m playing May in the first play I’ve ever done.

"I’ve performed in front of all kinds of crowds in my band, but this is the first time doing a play and I just couldn’t say no.

"The material is so provocative and visceral that I’m really excited to do it."

Is there anything this woman can’t do?

It’s true - what an enormous talent.

Juliette is also a Scientologist and makes a great statement of what she has gained from Scientology in the What is Scientology? book (which is also online).

Celebrate Dianetics
05.10.06 (11:50 pm)   [edit]
Yesterday was the 56th Anniversary of the publication of Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health.

The world has changed so much in 56 years. How did people survive without cell phones and the Internet, for example (joke but nearly not).

But some things have not changed. At least not fast enough. There is still war. There is still insanity. There are still vested interests that care nothing about how many die or are permenently damaged as long as they make a profit.

If mankind were sane -- each of us -- we would be working together to overcome the enemies of our species, not fighting amongs ourselves, inflicting pain upon one another and suffering the consequences spiritually.

Dianetics is the solution.

Every Scientology church in the world and most of the Scientology missions is having a event to share the news and progress of Dianetics over the past year. All are invited.

To locate Scientology churches, visit www.churchofscientology.com and to find a mission, visit Scientology Missions International web site.
